    Hi there,

    I am using your theme (quite professional and well-designed, congrats!!) to build a website for an educational institution. The client is quite happy with the result so far, but he is a bit demanding and asked for some bugs-changes which I am not quite sure how to fix-implement. Please note that I am graphic designer with some basic knowledge on html and css.

    1. Sometimes when you go from ‘Menu’ to submenus, the whole menu flickers. I think this is happening when you go straight and quickly from the ‘Menu’ to the 2nd or 3rd child of the submenu.

    2. Sometimes when you close a page or a post, another page pops-up, instead of going back to the home page. You need to click on the logo or word ‘Menu’ to restore it.

    3. Is it possible to add a different background image in the header of each page (but not into posts). I managed to add a background image using the css editor ( at ‘.content_wrap h1, .gallery_tip h1{ font-size:36px; line-height:40px;padding-bottom:20px; font-weight:400; font-style:normal; color:#444; }’, I changed color:#444 with a background image). However, this stays the same for all pages-posts. I tried to create a css script for individual pages using their id’s, but I was not successful.

    4. When I try to link an image of a page with another page, the Ajax transition does not work smoothly. You see a black or white background for a second and then the new page loads-appears. Is it possible to fix that?

    5. Can we make ‘Read more…’ buttons positive. Blue letters without background.

    6. In the mobile version, word ‘Menu’ appears twice. Can we change the first word into something else ie. ‘Please choose from the following:’

    The temporary address of the website is http://www.webzofnass.info These are the issues for which I desperately need your support. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon! Thank you!!!

    All the best and happy-productive new year!

    Best,

    5. change ‘read more’ background color here: backend:/appearance/theme options/color settings/hyperlinks font color; change fore color: open file style.css find this line a.playvideo, .unit_excerpt a.more {, after this change the color vaule.

    Hi again!

    Thanks for the reply!

    The last days I did the transfer to the permanent web host and address now is http://www.zofnass.org. I still have some of the previous problems and some new:

    OLD PROBLEMS

    1. Yes, I know that the user needs to move mouse along with the displayed menu area, but most people that tested the website commented that it frequently flickers… Any way to avoid that when you go straight from ‘Menu’ to, let’s say, ‘People’?

    2. It doesn’t happen in a specific page url, but randomly. Most testers mentioned that this is the most annoying problem of the website.

    3. Don’t need an answer for that any longer.

    4. I didn’t manage to make this work. Could you give the exact html code for that:
    p3

    5. Don’t need an answer for that any longer.

    6. Still waiting for your answer to that.

    NEW PROBLEMS

    1. The dashboard of wordpress in the new web hosting provider does not show the CSS Editor. I now only use the Custom CSS window in the Theme Options to do changes, but as I am not an expert, it is hard for me to write codes from scratch. Do you have any idea why the CSS Editor is not displayed there?

    2. Unfortunately now I don’t have access to the FTP of the university. I asked the university’s web technician to replace the main.js so we can have the menu always displayed, but this time it is not working (!). Any idea why? Should I maybe deactivte and reactivate the theme? Any other suggestions? (I managed to do this myself quite easily in the temporary website…)

    3.How can I have the Social Media pages open in a new window when I click on their icons?

    Last thing, I noticed that in the new website (where menu is not displayed when you are in a page or post), the OLD PROBLEM #2 almost never happens. Is there any connection?

    These are the questions for now. Many apologies for bombardizing you with so many things! Your help is precious!

    Not sure if you can read the code for OLD PROBLEMS #4. Code is:

    <a href="http://research.gsd.harvard.edu/zofnass/menu/current-research/economic-process-tool/"><img alt="p3" src="http://research.gsd.harvard.edu/zofnass/files/2014/01/p3.png" width="460" height="78" /></a>

    hi,
    old issues:
    1. please open file js/main.js find this codes(begin with line 1122):

    $menuunit.hover(function(){
    		jQuery(this).children('ul.sub-menu').slideDown(200);
    	},function(){
    		jQuery(this).children('ul.sub-menu').slideUp(100);
    	});

    replace it with:

    $menuunit.hover(function(){
    		jQuery(this).children('ul.sub-menu').stop(true, true).delay(200).slideDown(100);
    	},function(){
    		jQuery(this).children('ul.sub-menu').stop(true, true).delay(200).slideUp(100);
    	});

    2. I can not repeat the issue you mentioned in my test environment. please give me more details for test.
    4. links in a post only support link to internal page with ajax feature in this theme. becuase external link page ajax return we can not control. sorry about this.
    6. please open file js/main.js and find this line, comment or remove it:
    selectString += '<option value="">'+settings.topOptionText+'</option>';
    new issues:
    1. not sure whats the reason, may you should check your host dir or file privilege? or contact your host supplyer?
    2. sorry, I can not help about this.
    3. please open file footer.php and find social icons section, add all a tag with attribute target like this:
    target="_blank"
    All the best

    Thank you so much for your help!

    I will try tomorrow to ask access to the university’s FTP and do all changes you advised.

    In the meantime, in the old issue #4: the pages I want to link are internal. Let’s say, if I click on the first image on this page: , I want to go smoothly to this page: . This is possible, isn’t it? The code of the specific image-link is the the one I mentioned above.

    And one last thing. In explorer 9, the Close Button on top right, doesn’t work properly. It flickers and doesn’t change color similar to Chrome/Firefox. Would it be possible to fix that as well?

    Thank you for your patience with my ignorance! Despite these small bugs, client is super happy with the result!

    hi, as an alternative, to fix the post close button flicker issue, please open file sytle.css and find this line:
    .closeBtn:hover{ border-bottom:40px solid #f25e4e; }
    replace it with:

    .closeBtn:hover{ opacity: .5;
    -webkit-transition: opacity;
    -webkit-transition-timing-function: ease-out;
    -webkit-transition-duration: 500ms; }

    for old issue #4 please add onclick attribute like this to the a tag in editor with text mode:
    onclick="travelAnimate.transition('http://research.gsd.harvard.edu/zofnass/anypage\') ;return false;"
    note:please remove the backslash when you paste the code above

    Hi there,

    I managed to get access to the server and did the changes. We are getting closer (many issues have been solved), but I still have some:

    1. I managed to link smoothly an image of a page to another page! BUT when you click on the ‘Close Button’ of the new page, you go back to the last page (This is exactly the OLD PROBLEM #2!!!). I will give you an example: Visit website http://www.zofnass.org, go to ‘Current research’, you will see 4 images, click on the first image ‘Economic Process Tool’. It links you smoothly to a new page (Economic Process Tool), but when you click on the ‘Close Button’, you get the ‘Current Research’ page back instead of going to the home page. I hope now this is clear and can be solved!

    2. This one will drive me crazy (OLD PROBLEM #6)… I deleted this in main.js file as you adviced: selectString += '<option value="">'+settings.topOptionText+'</option>';. It didn’t work, so I added it back. Then I decided to test my scripting abilities and changed this: topOptionText: 'Menu' into topOptionText: 'V'. I lost all mobile menu and instead I get a long list of V’s. Now, the problem is that I tried to change this back to the default, but I still get the V’s! I also replaced the main.js file with the default, or even completely delete the main.js (I also deleted browser history and cache). Still I get the V’s. What is wrong with this? Is it a server problem with updating the file or I did something wrong to the code which is not reversible?

    Exlorer 9 issues

    1. The Close Button at pages/posts is not working properly even by adding the alternative code you suggested. It gives opacity to the button when hover in Chrome and Firefox, but no changes in IE9. I did a .gif to illustrate what is happening. Symbol X goes outside of the triangle and you don’t get the hand symbol (see attached).

    2. The menu tab sticks to the Logo, although there is an 1px margin arround the Menu tab in CSS Stylesheet (please see .gif again). In Chrome/Firefox this works fine, but not in IE9.

    That’s all. I hope we can work these out and leave you back into peace soon!!! 🙂

    Thank you so much!

    hi, 1. sorry about this, I don’t think there is a easy way to implemente that page links nested call ajax, it will make the first level close button unavailable. I suggest you using plain menu items link to pages.
    2. after comment main.js line 1187(selectString +=…), and tested on my local machine, top ‘Menu’ removed with responsive view, not find any prolblem. may be you should clear you browser’s cache?
    new:
    1.I have test the close button alternative css on local with ie9, there is no problem. I found your staging and product site all without updated css
    2.style.css line 64 chenge to
    #navi{ position:relative; top: 1px; }
    this will make ‘Menu’ with 1px top margin in IE9 like chrome and firefox

    Hi!

    client asked to remove ‘comments’ section in posts. I went Settings-Discussions and unticked ‘Allow people to post comments on new articles’, but I still have the comments section in older posts. Also, there is no margin at the end of each post now. Any more efficient way to remove comments??

    Many thanx!

    And a second question. Is it possible to keep menu in place when I tick the ‘Disable Ajax Load Post in List Page’?

    Thank you!

    Hi,
    -remove comments, open file single.php find lines below and remove them:
    if (comments_open()) { comments_template(); }
    -show menu while ‘Disable Ajax Load Post in List Page’:
    open file single.php and remove this line:
    div.parentNode.removeChild(div);
    but I don’t think this is a good idea, this will break pages navigation routing with original design.

    Hi, please try add double slashes before this statement like this:
    //if (comments_open()) { comments_template(); }

    Thank you so much, I have an urgent issue and I would really appreciate a quick reply.

    The client asked to remove the Ajax effect, so we can have the unique permalink of each page and post at the address bar (this is quite important for them). I found an old topic and managed to remove this effectively for the pages at this point (not the posts yet). I deleted the cache and this works fine in 3 diffenent pc’s that I tried. But when they try it, they say that they still have the Ajax effect and permalinks of pages don’t show up in the address bar. They even deleted the whole history in their computers, but nothing changes. Any ideas why this is happening?

    Hi again,

    I would like EACH page of the menu to have its own address at the bar. The address of the home page is http://research.gsd.harvard.edu/zofnass/. When you go to Menu->About, you still get: http://research.gsd.harvard.edu/zofnass/ at the adress bar.
    I would like it to be http://research.gsd.harvard.edu/zofnass/menu/about

    In order to fix the problem, I followed your words from another discussion:
    _________
    to disable menu links ajax feature please open file js/main.js find this line jQuery(“#navi a”).aLinkClick();,
    comment it or delete it;
    _________

    I did this (and also cleared cache) and now I get individual address for each page in my computer, but other visitors of the website still see http://research.gsd.harvard.edu/zofnass/ in EVERY page.

    Hope this is clearer now. Looking forward for your reply.

    Many thanks.

    Hi, I have examined here http://research.gsd.harvard.edu/zofnass/ from my end. as you said, clicked the menu items, each page with different addressbar. so I think you server has no problem, please manage to know what their(visitors with issue)computer OS, browsers and tell them how to clear the caches, that would be help you to solve the problem.
