    Is it possible to have the background color, that appears behind transparent images in a post, go to the edges of the browser? This happens when the image gallery setting is set to fullwidth, but then constrains the background color when it’s set to normal.

    I isn’t possible to set for only behind transparent images, it is possible to set whole page area:
    Please paste the custom css code to “Appearance > Customize : Additional CSS”

    body.single .post.format-gallery,
    .single-format-gallery #footer {
        background-color: #eee;
