    Hello,
I’ve created a child theme and made a modification to the interface-functions.php file to show the image file names in the gallery of a certain category.
The code works perfectly, but it works only if I add it in the original theme folder, while if I place in the child-theme folder it’s ignored. I created the full directory path, but it seems to be ignored.
I have other files in other subfolders working perfectly.

    Thank you
    Michela

    Hi,

The interface-functions.php can not be covered, because it is function.
It is not all files that can be covered in child theme, the files in “template” folder and part of roots folder.

I suggest you replace the function() instead of whole file. refer this post: https://code.tutsplus.com/tutorials/a-guide-to-overriding-parent-theme-functions-in-your-child-theme–cms-22623

    Regards!
