Hi, I’m using a grid of articles with the categories filter, but initially it doesn’t show anything. Only when I click on the 2 categories and then click back on “All” the items are shown, but not before. http://soboldalmostincredible.com/cms/
Did you put all articles into one category and pickup this category for the portfolio template?
If did, please stop all plugins to test again.
If it doesn’t work, please send your question and wp-admin(url/user/pass) to email@example.com, I’ll log in to check it.
At the moment I have nothing selected as category in the portfolio template. I need to have only “All”, “ITS 2018” and “ITS 2018 ARTWORK” as filters. I tried adding another (dummy) category common to all the items, but that category also appears in the filter (which I don’t want). I tried to create an “All” category but then I got 2 duplicate “All” in the filter menu. So, how can I add a category to have all the items shown but without showing that category in the filters?
This is great, thanks for the explanation, I didn’t realize this. I’ve created the “All finalists” category as parent, and it’s working, without being displayed on the filters. Anyway, it appears as the category of the item, when I hover on the thumbnail, for all the items, instead of the child category each item belongs to. Is this normal?
Ok, I noticed the child category is shown too. I changed the name from “All finalists” to “Finalist” and it grammatically connect with the child category being shown right after. I’d call it a work-around..
Yes yes, the filter needs to be applied only here http://soboldalmostincredible.com/cms/finalists/. I mean that when I hover the mouse over a thumbnail I see the title of the article and the categories it belongs to. It shows the child category (“ITS 2018” or “ITS 2018 Artwork”) but it also shows, before, the parent category “Finalist” which is not meant to be shown.
