I noticed in Envato Market that the Aside theme has been updated on a few days ago (September 4th). How can I make sure that I have the latest Aside theme activated on WordPress?
Also, I found out that Revolution Slider just released a new version (4.6). How can I update that plugin?
Let me know, thanks!September 7, 2014 at 1:53 am #4438September 7, 2014 at 6:15 am #4440
Thanks for the image! I’m currently using version 1.2.4
How do I update to the current version?September 7, 2014 at 7:52 am #4442
- download the main file from themeforest.net
- unzip it
- find the aside folder
- upload/replace the aside folder to your space (xxxx/wp-content/themes/aside)
FW, suggest wait the next version, it is updating in 2-3 days

Thanks so much for your help!
Another question! I noticed that there’s an “aside-child” folder. Now I’ve only done a little research, but my basic understanding of this child theme is:
– I will have “Aside” and “Aside-Child” as themes in my WordPress
– “Aside” will remain at its default stage
– “Aside-Child” is what I’ll activate and mess around with
– “Aside” acts as a reference for “Aside-Child”
So with that in mind, I can update “Aside” whenever a new version is available, and my currently activated “Aside-Child” will reference in those updates while still keeping all of my changes (or at least most of it). Is that how it works? Please correct me if I’m wrong!
Thanks! Looking forward to the next version! ^____^September 7, 2014 at 8:20 am #4446
Yes, you could use child theme. If you make some custom work, you’ll change the code in child theme. When the aisde folder is update, the custom code could not be overridden.September 8, 2014 at 8:37 am #4464
